Cry Out To The Father

by Sharon Chimere-Dan

He Wants You To

"Will you not from this time cry to Me, 'My Father, You are the Guide of my youth? . . ." - Jeremiah 3:4

If you read the story behind this verse, you'll find that God was really angry with Israel for forsaking Him (again) and worshiping trees and stones instead. But you see, He loved them dearly and even though He was upset, He wanted them to turn back to Him, to repent and take Him as their God and Father again.

He wanted them to cry out to Him.

Not Only In This Situation

In this example, God wanted Israel to cry out to Him in repentance. But there are other ways in which we can and indeed should cry out to our Lord:

In desperation and despair - Psalm 6

In joy and gladness - Psalm 32:11

In times of worry - 1 Peter 5:7

And because He loves us and loves, desires and commands our praises and adoration, we should sing, dance and speak aloud to the Lord our God.

For who He is, for all He does and because He chose You to be called His friend, cry out to the Lord in praise.

If you're in pain or if things are hard, cry out to the Lord, telling Him it's so. Cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you. He cares about even the smallest, most seemingly insignificant worry. And best of all, He does something about it.

Like the first verse said, cry out to Him, proclaiming Him as your Father.

And in all things, let your actions proclaim His glory to others and cry out to Him as an offering of love.

And don't forget that in crying out to Him, for whatever the reason, you are being obedient to Him. And that please God.

Last Words...

Father is, and Father God,

He wants to hear your voice.

Now you can speak or silence keep;

To you He leaves the choice.
